The male Tiger came to greet us up to the Jeep

Looking for Tiger on the Elephants

What a dayJ   Guess who came to greet us?  This probably the high light of India trip ( unless there is something bigger in store for us). I have to start from the highlight of the day. In the evening we went out for the two hour Safari and since we had seen the tiger up close in the morning, we were just looking at other animals as well as the trees and the birds.  Our guide and the driver were very patient and knowledgeable and we were letting them decide what they wanted to show us. They heard the “call” and rushed to the meadow where the calls were coming. Somehow they were able ot get in the front of every other Sarafi vehicle and waited with patience. The Tiger came out of the bushes and came straight towards us…there are no words to describe the feeling . It was a big male tiger and it came coming with a purpose ( to greet us I am sure) . Other people in the vehicle behind us started backing off and the Guide was telling the driver to back up but we persisted in just staying there. Jagdish and Vinita were scared ( open jeep and all) and she wanted to back up so we did a little but it was just amazing…it was so close that we could have touched it . After that there was nothing else that could top the experience so we came back satisfied and happy.
TO back up,in  the morning we were woken up by sounds of the jungle and were taken by the open jeep at 6:30am and were in search of the tiger and other wild life. There are herds of Cheetals, Barah sigha, Samber , peacocks, monkeys and occasional Bison and . The Tiger made the showing and it was very clear. This time it was the female tiger . It turned out, they have the technique to surround the tiger with a group of elephants and if you are lucky or the VIP or both, you get to ride the elephant and see the tiger up close. We were both, so up the elephant and close to the Tiger. Interesting fact is that the tiger and the elephants have respect for each other and rather than fighting they just ignore each other ;)
We saw a movie about local tigress Laxmi and her cubs ( very nice movie) in the amphitheatre and the museum and are sitting outside the cabin hearing the jungle sounds ( birds, cheetals, monkeys) , monkeys are bouncing on the roof and looking at me with a curious look ( one of them is too close for comfort but I am hanging in there) and cheetals grazing outside…I am blogging , coaching Manoher about how in load pictures etc and talking. It has been an amazing experience, very well organized and the jungle is well managed with respect.  Ah, btw, they made dinner for us ( made to order) and fed us in a private dinning room with white linens, fine china and all the service of VIP ( NOT VVIPJ
